During NNHW, skilled nursing care centers united under the theme, "The Spirit of America."  This theme underscores the bond between staff, volunteers, and residents that capture the American spirit.  NNHW provides an opportunity for residents and their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and surroundings communities to recognize the role of skilled nursing care centers in caring for America's seniors and individuals with disabilities.  The festivities included:

  • "America Monday" - Everyone dressed in their red, white and blue or camouflage to showcase the spirit of America.  "Patriotic Party" with patriotic sundaes!
  • "Hats off toe America Tuesday" - Staff got in the American spirit by wearing hats and shades.  Patriotic Carnival was held outdoors on the front porch with patriotic games, patriotic cake walk, carnival music, fresh kettle corn, and snow cones!
  • "Wild Wild West Wednesday" - Staff dress in western gear to show that American western spirit of the Wild Wild West and held a Western Party with chili dogs! Staff bingo with prizes was also held during staff lunch hour!
  • "Movie Mayham Thursday" - Staff dressed as their favorite movie character or their favorite American Era and held a Disco Inferno Party with breath taking party foods and punch! Prize was given to the best dressed!
  • "T-Shirt & Jeans Friday" - Residents, family, volunteers, and staff went out with a bang dressing alike with " The Spirit of America" t-shirts and jeans while enjoying "Percy King's Amazing Animal Presentation" and a facility cookout.

NNHW was an enormous success and residents enjoyed every actvitiy and party that was held.  Chadwick Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, LLC was in the American Spirit.  Residents, family, staff and volunteers, exhibited the true definition of teamwork, unity, and patriotism.
