Celebrating African-American History Month
African-American history is the part of American history that looks at the African-Americans or Black Americans in the United States. It began as a way for remembering important people and events in the history of the African diaspora. Chadwick Nursing & Rehabilitation Center celebrated all month with festivities that included a “Soul Food Luncheon” for residents and staff, a tribute wall to great African American successors, “Purple Day” to pay tribute to African-American writer Alice Walker, “Animal Day” where staff dressed in their leopard attire, and “Unity Day” where staff dressed in their black and white or African attire, and other crafts, facts, and trivia games for residents!

Sweetheart Bash
Valentine's Day is the most romantic day of the year.  Residents designed their own shirts during a previous arts & crafts activity, and wore them to their Sweetheart Bash Party!  The room was filled with delicious hors d'oeuvres, romantic music, dancing, and a great social hour for residents.  They reminisced about romantic memories from weddings, honeymoons, previous valentine's day memories with their spouses, and other love stories that they held close to their hearts.  Love was definitely in the air!
